Sanando (Healing) New Portfolio

Sanando (Healing) is all about healing our wounds and how determination, inspiration and love can help us achieve anything we believe possible. When I started working on this portfolio I was in a transition point in my life, where I started meditating, exercising and taking a better care of myself.

This portfolio to me, is the perfect representation of what I was going trough in that point of my life. Most of the images are still life photos, macro or patterns created by nature, mainly small plants or exotic plants from japanese gardens.

Maybe you could use this as an inspiration to go beyond any limitation and create a better life for yourself, a daily reminder that can help you the same way it helped me.

I invite you to go to the Gallery section and check this new portfolio or check out the store if you want to buy one of the open edition prints that are for sale.

Forest of Love

I uploaded a new portfolio today to my website is called Forest of Love, and consists of a transformation to the way I explore the world and use it to express my love for nature.

During my meditations in nature I felt more and more compeled to use color as a tool. A tool to show what I feel inside. Things have changed for the best in my life and everyday I feel more happy and peaceful, making me more grateful about the presence of color in life.

Everything is possible

To me everything is possible, sometimes I feel closer to this notion than others. But today I really want to feel that my life is improving, that I can follow my heart and let everything be and support myself and the people that I love and care about.

Today's photo expresses that feeling of power, hope and love.

Exploring during Hurricane Harvey

This is a second part of my explorations inside my apartment while there was Harvey storm passing by Houston Metro Area. This is a little different from what I normally shoot, but I felt inspired to document my experience, which was not dangerous or major. But really interesting to me in a personal level, here are some of the photos from the Third day of seclusion in the apartment.

Photography, Beauty and Timidness

Since I was a little kid I considered myself a timid person. I always hide my true self behind a shell of silence and awkwardness.

It's not easy to be a timid person, I believe is harder to be timid than bold. Being timid is constant hard work failing to block your original personality to show a silent and “perfect” being.

Yes I said perfect because that’s why timid people are timid. We are so scared to be criticized that we sphincter ourselves believing that we will be able to fool people into not seeing beyond our shell.

That’s where photography comes into play for me, because I found a way to be me and say what I want to say without risking of being me. The tricky part was that the result was the opposite, the more I shoot the more I have to take the risk to show you how I see my world and what is important to myself.

This risk taking issue has affected me, because I have to live this double life where I hide myself and show myself at the same time. Today I decided to open myself, leave my shell behind and take the commitment of being me from now on.

I decide to turn away from perfectionism and anxiety, leave all the BS and start enjoying all this process.

We will see how this decision will affect the way I see and capture the world.

USA LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR 2016

Hello, it's been a while since the last time I wrote something here. I've been full of work and other responsabilities.

Today I write this short post to let you know that I was shortlisted for the USA LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR 2016, with one of my favorite "Tree Portraits" from the body of work Komorebi. The image is called "Thank you / Perseverance" and it holds a very special place in my heart because I took it on my birthday in 2015. A magical fogy morning that I will never forget.
