I was born in Maracaibo, Venezuela. Since I was a little kid I’ve been fascinated by technology, used computers since I was 6 and loved to play with those magical devices during the 80s.
I went to Zulia University and got a Bachelor degree as an Electrical Engineer, my whole life I thought I would be an engineer like my parents, both mechanical engineers. I was on my 10th semester thinking that I would work in the oil and gas industry.
During this time I was stepping out from a toxic relationship and I started to take better care of myself, I started to meditate and exercise mainly in natural parks and trails. One day I remember loving how to light passed through the leaves, the Japanese have a word this and they call it “Komorebi”.
Inspired by Komorebi I decided to borrow my dad’s camera and started taking photos of nature around campus. I felt a strong connection with the process of exploring the world with my camera and expressing my love for light and nature.
Since then my path shifted towards photography, with no money I started to follow my passion for photography, started to work in a magazine as an Event photographer. During this time I started to submit my work to regional photo competitions and started to receive some awards.
This gave me the confidence to submit to international competitions and regional museums, I had the privilege of showing my work in the Zulia’s Museum of Contemporary Arts and during Maracaibo’s Art Bienal. I have received Honorable Mentions in the Prix de la Photographie Paris, International Photography Awards, USA Landscape Photographer of the Year and Spider Black and White Photography Awards.
In 2014 I moved to the US to continue my career as a photographer, now I have a studio space in Houston Arts District where I present and sell my fine art photography prints.
A wonderful experience that has been growing for 12 years, that started the day that I decided to take care of myself and follow my bliss.
